Anne Marie Maier

Anne Marie Maier is a native of Ithaca, NY and a Nazareth College graduate. She is a self-taught, avid photographer with a passion for capturing the surrounding landscapes and abundant wildlife of upstate New York.

With the belief that inspiration can be found as close as one’s back yard, Anne Marie hopes that her photographs encourage people to look at their own surroundings with a new awareness.  “Photography allows me to express how I view my world and share the breath-taking beauty and serendipitous moments that are uniquely the Finger Lakes.”

In recent years, traveling to visit children and grandchildren has presented many new opportunities to experience the magnificent and starkly different Southwest.  “I love to pair images that represent extremes in geography and distance.   This contrast gives me an even deeper appreciation for the inherent beauty in each.”

After much encouragement from family and friends, Anne Marie began selling her work in February 2009.   Her work has been published in Canandaigua Magazine and Life in the Finger Lakes, and she is a frequent exhibitor in regional art shows.

Anne Marie and her husband Bill reside in Penfield, NY.  Free time together is often spent taking scenic hikes with their dog Gracie, and boating on the Finger Lakes.
